Delfeayo Marsalis presents Sweet Thunder:

Sweet Thunder: Duke & Shak, is a theatrical jazz production honoring Duke Ellington and William Shakespeare featuring internationally acclaimed trombonist, composer, producer and 2011 NEA Jazz Masters Award recipient Delfeayo Marsalis, actor Kenneth Brown, Jr. (Treme) and the Delfeayo Marsalis Octet, plus full stage set and costuming. The show is directed by John Grimsley with a script by Charles E. Gerber. The New York Times calls Marsalis "...a resoundingly skillful trombonist and composer." The Hollywood Reporter says: "Delfeayo is charming, hip and his trombone solo has sweep."
Be among the first in Charlotte to experience a performance in the sparkling new KNIGHT THEATER. The theater joins the Mint Museum, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the Afro-American Cultural Center in a new cultural district on South Tryon Street that will add a whole new dimension to the Uptown art scene.
